Springfield is where we are.
Bible is what we teach.
Church is who we are.
Bible
At SBC, we are committed to teaching the entirety of God's Word. We teach expositionally through Scripture. Each Sunday, our pastor preaches directly from God's Word. Every week, we study the Bible in Sunday morning Bible classes and midweek studies.
You will find many different versions of the Bible being used throughout our congregation. Pastor Curt utilizes the New International Version (NIV) while teaching. We have Bibles available in the pews for your use during the service. We also have free Bibles available if you would like to request one for your personal use.
Worship
We love to worship together in song. Each Sunday, we worship together with choruses and hymns as a response to God's command to worship Him in song. We also enjoy having special music often. We have many talented musicians and singers in our midst.
You will find hymnals available in every pew. We enjoy piano accompaniment as we sing together.
Children
We are a family-oriented church. We believe children are God's gift to our church. They are a reminder that God is faithful to growing His body and raising up the next generation of His people. We love to see the little ones running around before and after services and Bible Studies.
We have a nursery available for ages 0-3 during Sunday School and Worship Service. We do not have a children's church. You are welcome to keep your kids in the pew with you during the service. We understand that little ones sometimes need to squirm and wiggle. In fact, it makes many of us smile to hear young ones occasionally. If you do feel like you need to take your child out of the service, please plan to come back into the service.
We have Sunday Morning Bible Classes for all ages and utilize Answers Bible Curriculum for our children's classes.
We host AWANA on Sunday nights for children 3-14, August-May.
Communion
We celebrate the Lord's Table on the first Sunday of each month.
We practice open communion, so membership at Springfield Bible Church is not required, but all who believe in Jesus Christ and trust Him as their Savior are invited to share in communion. The elements are passed through the congregation, and we partake together. Each person is encouraged to search their own heart as we prepare for this sacred remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice.
Missions
Our church monthly supports multiple missions doing God's work around the world. We receive and share frequent updates on the Missions Wall in the foyer.
We are currently supporting 17 missions and ministries locally and globally. Some we have supported for 20+ years and others we have recently started supporting. We pray that there would be workers for the harvest around the world, and we are blessed to be a part of that work in prayer and support.
Tithing
We believe tithing should be a matter of the heart and moved by your relationship with God. We do not pass an offering plate during the service, but we do have drop boxes near the entrance of the sanctuary for your convenience. If you would like to give online, please use the button below.
Baptism
SBC practices Believer's Baptism. Once you have accepted Christ as your Savior, Baptism is a public expression of your faith in Jesus Christ and your wholehearted willingness to serve him.
If you wish to join with the Lord in Believer's Baptism, please contact our pastor or a member of the board.
Membership
If you desire to pursue membership in our congregation, please read our doctrinal statement and church constitution. These documents can be found on a table in the foyer. Please feel free to talk with the pastor or a member of the board with any questions.
Doctrinal Statement
We believe in the verbal inspiration and final authority of the Old and New Testaments; the Trinity of the Godhead; the virgin birth and deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; the Person and work of the Holy Spirit; the personality of Satan; the total depravity and lost condition of man by nature and his need of repentance and the new birth; the propitiation for sin through the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ our Savior; His physical resurrection from the dead; justification by faith; that every believer has eternal life; a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices; the dispensational distinction between the Church and Israel, and that the tribulation of the Church will precede the Tribulation when God will again deal with Israel nationally; the personal, premillennialism coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to earth with His saints to establish His millennial kingdom; the eternal conscious punishment of the lost and the eternal bliss of every saved person.
